Welcome to our first Esprit Freedivers Marine Conservation talk with tapas, 29th June 2024.

What a glorious summer’s evening we had discovering the hidden secrets of our abundant, local marine life, eloquently described and photographed by our local marine biologist and award winning, underwater photographer, Theo Vickers. We learnt how our marine environment changes with the seasons and over time, with some species disappearing, being replaced by others. Chani Courtney also spoke to us about pollution threats to our precious seagrass meadows, Surfers Against Sewage campaigns and how to report sewage out spills. The evening was rounded off by delicious tapas washed down by sangria or Mermaid G&T, kindly sponsored by PADI Aware and IW Distillery.

Thanks to all our supporters and over 40 people attending our first event. Esprit Freedivers made donations to Theo, Surfers Against Sewage and Project Seagrass from the proceeds.

We will be holding more talks by popular request so keep an eye on our Events page, we look forward to seeing you soon!
